Before I set off to pen my thoughts down regarding this online workshop by ContentVidhya, I would like to cite one famous saying. I give it below:

“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let your sleep.”–APJ. Abdul Kalam.

I have always had this mental urge about writing even though I am employed in a sector that does not proffer much scope for writing. Practical problems, time constraints and regular hours spent behind travelling are some of the knotty issues that have put paid to my dream of becoming a Content Writer. Yet, a sort of mental itching, a palpable unease, a passive refusal to accept things as they are was there from the outset in my mind. So, when lockdown measures started in my native state anew, I did not think twice to enrol myself for this wonderful online workshop.

The workshop ticked almost all the boxes for me — some of which are mentioned below:

  1. Hesitancy/self-doubt or how to deal with writer’s block

2) How to proceed in a carefully planned & calibrated way

3) Introducing us to different genres of content writing

4) Exhaustive discussion about various strategies that can make a blog post stand out conspicuously in a crowd of mediocrity

5) Sufficient assignments that gave us a clear hands-on experience

6) Certificate of completion

Besides all these above features, our trainer was well experienced and very thorough and always co-operative with what we were trying to achieve. Despite confabbing on a wide range of sub-topics, sessions were well guided and never lost sight of their direction.

There were six sessions in total and each of these sessions had a new perspective, a different takeaway on the topic at hand. I had learnt a lot not only on how to allay the fear of writer’s block but also to address it with tricks, tips and sundry tools. The excitement of expectation that I had when I took the course did not evaporate with the conclusion of the 6-day workshop. The flames of my passion for writing reached its crescendo as the workshop unraveled and gradually culminated into a beautiful experience. All I can say at the end that I am pretty satisfied with what the workshop meant to deliver.
